ALEKS

Aleksandra Ørbeck Bousfield is an actress, filmmaker, artist, and activist whose life and work are deeply intertwined with the landscapes and cultures of Africa. After beginning her career as a model in Paris and New York at 15, a life-changing experience at 18 led her to Namibia, where she immersed herself in wildlife conservation and spent years caring for lions and leopards.

Since then, Aleks has dedicated more than a decade to working alongside indigenous communities across Southern and East Africa, particularly the Ju/’hoansi people of the Kalahari. She founded the organization Nanofasa in Namibia to support and amplify indigenous voices and protect their relationship with nature. Her journey includes walking 1,490 km across Namibia and advocating against poaching and wildlife exploitation.

Alongside her activism, Aleksandra works as a filmmaker, writer, and actress, creating films, documentaries, and multimedia works shaped by wilderness, cultural memory, and human connection. Named a “Planet Hero” by Paris Match, she uses storytelling, art, and public speaking to promote what she calls a “global warming of hearts”, believing that when people reconnect with themselves and the natural world, both humanity and nature can heal.
